Linux Games ™. Glest is Warcraft strategy game style, set in a medieval fantasy world with two factions, Magic and Tech, each with their own set of units, buildings and upgrades.
The Tech faction uses traditional human warriors and has medieval mechanical devices in its arsenal, and are strong in melee combat. The Magic faction is designed for advanced players with most of their units morphed from or summoned by others. It lacks the hand-to-hand combat strength of the Tech faction but features more versatile units.
Tilesets are selected at the new game setup menu and determine the graphical nature of the Glest game world. Glest was released with three default tilesets, Forest, Winter and Dark Forest.
Glest adalah game strategi ala Warcraft, dengan gaya fantasi abad pertengahan terdiri dari dua faksi, Penyihir dan Teknorat, dimana masing-masing faksi memiliki unit tersendiri, bangunan maupun kemampuan upgrade.
Faksi Teknokrat menggunakan kemampuan pejuang manusia tradisional dan mengunakan mekanisme perlengkapan abad pertengahan dan memiliki kekuatan dalam pertempuran jarak dekat. Faksi Penyihir didisain untuk pemain lanjut memiliki keahlian berubah dan dibangkitkan oleh pasukan lainnya. Dengan kelemahan pertempuran jarak dekat yang dimilikinya sebagaimana Faksi Teknokrat, Faksi Penyihir memiliki unit khusus.
